Are you finally ready to experience the world outside of the United States?
Before you leave the country, you will need a valid US passport. I thought it would be helpful to share 3 things you should know before applying for your first passport.
Where do I go? You will have to show up in person at either an acceptance facility or a passport agency. It is best to call ahead and find out if they accept appointments or can tell you best day and time to come in. Found out more info on Passport Offices.
What do I need? You will need to have the following when you arrive:
Application fee
Passport photo - 1 2” by 2” color passport photo
When will I get it? After your appointment, expect to receive your passport in four to six weeks. If you need to get your passport faster you can pay to have it expedited for an additional fee, read more at Get My Passport Fast.
