Vacationing in Dordogne, France

Bonjour to another blog post of Allez les Belges! Today we meet Ann Goris in the Dordogne region of France! She is the property owner of beautiful Castel de Moulin Haut.

What is your current job/role in the tourism industry? We left Belgium in 1998 with 3 little children (a 4-year old, a 2-year old and a baby!) to move to the Dordogne region of France. We built a small touristy villa complex with a big swimming pool (Castel de Moulin Haut). We started with 4 villas. and in 2001, the last 4 villas were constructed, all with the help of local people. We just had our 20th summer this year and now our 3 children are old enough to help us! I like to give a warm and personalised welcome to everyone who arrives in our villa complex.

I enjoy meeting with all the families or couples with friends who stay with us. It's my pleasure to give them a lot of information about the beautiful green and pure Dordogne area :)

Your own favorite vacation destination? I like to go to Spain by car and stay in a small family-operated hotel.

What is the motto you live by? Don't be afraid to be different, be afraid to be the same as everyone else...

What do you miss most about Belgium?

I don't miss the traffic and the rain at all, but I miss my family and friends and sometimes even the French fries of a Belgian 'frietkot' :) However, on Friday evenings we have a 'pizza truck' that comes to our village. I never thought it was possible to have that here, so perhaps in 5 years a "fries" truck will arrive... you never know :)

If you want to find out more information about Ann's vacation villas in Dordogne, please contact us at info@dailytraveldose.com. It also sounds like a Belgian frietkot would be popular there...
