Peruvian Pisco Sours with Annelies

Welcome back to a post for Allez les Belges! Today we go to South America to meet Annelies Hamerlinck from Vamos Expeditions.

What is your current job/role in the tourism industry:  For the last 15 years, I have been the owner and director of Vamos Expeditions, a travel agency/tour operator based in Peru and specialized in creating tailor-made holidays for people who enjoy culture, nature, hiking and/or adventure travel.

Your own favorite vacation destination: My Peruvian husband and I love to travel by 4X4 all over the country, from the coast to the Andes and even to the Amazon jungle. We also love to search for waves to surf along the Peruvian coastline. Traveling by 4X4 is great in Peru, you can get to and in national parks where otherwise you wouldn´t be able to get in, and they are really great. It also allows you much more freedom to stop anywhere you like and you can travel at your own rythm. I highly recommend this type of travel for our clients too.

What is the motto you live by: I have two:  Give all you have in what you do and where you are.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

What do you miss most about Belgium: My family and friends. My mom's delicious soups from our organic vegetable farm at home. Especially when I am in the capital Lima, I also miss the Belgian roads and predictable traffic to drive.

If you want to know more about vacations with Vamos Expeditions, please contact me at info@dailytraveldose.com. Before you email us: pour yourself a Peruvian pisco sour. Annelies is showing how it's done below :) It's made with lime juice, Pisco (distilled grapes), egg white, ice, sugar and cinnamon. And yes, it's delicious!
